A few weeks ago, (after 4 years) I started drawing again. It was not because I thought it was about time, or it might be fun or at the request of anyone in particular. I have never been the kind of artist that creates Art for Art sake...I believe my Art is inspired by the work of the Holy Spirit. It always comes as my heart's response to something God has set there. As I mentioned in a recent post, my heart has been broken for the girls, young women and even the men trapped in the bondage of the sex-trade/human trafficking industry in Southeast Asia. The above artwork is an attempt to draw others into their story...in hopes that we will one day in the power & name of Jesus...put an end to this evil. It is my prayer that we would respond as Jesus does~
(Isaiah 61:1-3)~
(Isaiah 61:1-3)~
"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair..."

Hi Dawn,
I just found your blog. This artwork is so amazing. My heart goes out to these victims too. Thank you for drawing what the Holy Spirit has put on your heart. I was just back in Illinois and was sorry to to see you at church.
God Bless you.
